Our client is seeking a skilled Preconstruction MEP Estimator to join their team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In this role, you will be responsible for providing preconstruction phase MEP estimating and planning services, collaborating closely with the Preconstruction Manager, Owner, Design Team, and Operations Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quantity takeoff using 2D and 3D applications.
- Analyze plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, material, and equipment.
- Develop MEP FP construction cost models and estimates throughout all phases of design.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to solicit pricing and verify scope of work.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and promote customer relations with the Owner and Design Team.
- Assist in the preparation of technical proposals and oral presentations for Business Development.
- Utilize computerized estimating software such as Cost OS, mc2, Pro Contractor Navisworks Manage, BIM, Pro Contractor, and Primavera (P6).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, PDF mark-up, and other relevant applications.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to travel and work at various locations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of construction estimating/preconstruction MEP FP focused experience.
- Strong time management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Experience with various estimating and project management software.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse, multi-disciplined groups.
