SUPERINTENDENT

Details:

Our client is seeking a Superintendent to provide on-site supervision and technical management for construction projects. The Superintendent will play a critical role in ensuring client satisfaction while maintaining control over planning and coordinating field activities. This position involves close collaboration with the Project Manager throughout the project planning and procurement phases.

  • Direct and oversee the entirety of the construction activities to ensure alignment with project specifications, budgetary constraints, and timeline objectives. This involves regular interaction with client representatives, architectural and engineering professionals, and fellow contractors.
  • Take charge of implementing and enforcing on-site safety protocols and procedures to uphold a secure working environment for all personnel.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise various on-site operations and personnel, including engineering teams and material management.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules to facilitate efficient project progression and timely completion.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and activities of subcontractors to ensure contractual obligations are met and project milestones achieved.
  • Exercise authority in approving all project-related purchase requisitions and equipment rentals, ensuring alignment with project needs and budget constraints.
  • Provide technical guidance and support, including interpreting construction drawings, recommending optimal construction methodologies and equipment usage.
  • Implement stringent quality control measures to uphold project standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project management in the development and implementation of project procedures, standards, and management tools.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of project submittals to verify compliance with contractual requirements and project specifications.
  • Ensure strict adherence to project procedures and regulations among on-site personnel, documenting any deviations and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Review and assess change order requests prior to submission to project owners.
  • Undertake additional tasks and assignments as delegated by the Supervisor to ensure project success and client satisfaction.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • 8-20 years of experience in construction management and/or craft supervision.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, craft agreements, negotiations, engineering, cost control, schedules, and safety.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential for success in this role.
