Our client is looking for an experienced Project Accounting Manager to lead their accounting team and oversee project budgets, financial reporting, and compliance. This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial operations while supporting the company’s strategic goals. The Project Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with project managers and leadership to align financial practices with operational objectives and mentor a high-performing team of accountants.
Key Responsibilities
- Budget & Forecast Management: Oversee project budgets, monitor costs, and forecast expenses to prevent budget overruns.
- Billing & Invoicing: Ensure accurate and timely client invoicing in alignment with contract terms.
- Contract Compliance: Review project contracts for payment schedules, insurance, lien waivers, and bonding requirements to maintain compliance.
- Collaboration: Partner with project managers and leadership to support financial and operational goals.
- Team Leadership: Train and mentor project accountants to uphold high standards in project accounting and compliance.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in project accounting or a related field, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or certificate in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (data analysis and reporting); knowledge of Penta, OnBase, or Citrix software is a plus.
- Analytical Ability: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze data and drive results.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively.
- Leadership: Proven ability to mentor and support team members in understanding project accounting standards and company policies.
