As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in providing proactive estimating services for a range of projects. Responsibilities include quantity takeoffs, pricing assistance, bidder solicitation, and ensuring accurate project contracts. With a focus on precision and adherence to core values, the senior estimator creatively approaches each project to deliver comprehensive and precise estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct all estimating and pricing duties for assigned projects, encompassing conceptual, schematic, and design development estimates.
- Ensure timely completion of estimating and pricing tasks to facilitate review and recommendations by the project team.
- Uphold accuracy in estimates through thorough research and leveraging of additional resources, such as subcontractors.
- Liaise with architects and owners to resolve any discrepancies or ambiguities in project documentation.
- Deliver estimates to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, meeting all required breakout specifications.
- Incorporate various estimates, including taxes, insurances, and permits, as applicable.
- Exercise sound judgment by referencing historical data and adjusting for cost escalations as necessary.
- Provide detailed estimates for concrete general requirements and structural elements.
- Utilize estimating software effectively for concrete and structural estimates.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding project financials and related information.
- Assist in setting up job cost reports and budget estimates.
- Actively promote the company to clients and architectural teams, collaborating with the Business Development Department for future opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in scheduling and cost estimating, including blueprint interpretation and quantity take-offs.
- Regular and punctual attendance is required for this position. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
