Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct precise and comprehensive quantity takeoffs utilizing company protocols, detail, and coding across various CSI division systems for all project document levels.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop accurate and succinct clarifications and assumptions.
- Obtain clarification on plans and specifications from architects and engineers as needed.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing input when necessary.
- Attend project site pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews as required.
- Develop unit costs accurately and perform technical/plan reviews when necessary.
- Exhibit problem-solving skills by identifying and implementing appropriate solutions.
- Enhance knowledge of building designs, systems, and construction materials through available resources.
- Effectively assess and plan takeoff workload.
- Master all computer software programs utilized in preconstruction, with a focus on estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Desiniti.
- Continuously strive for self-improvement by expanding knowledge of construction technologies and techniques.
- Cultivate strong relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups, aligning with company values and exceeding customer expectations.
- Actively engage in industry, client, and community relations to bolster the company's image.
- Participate in personal career development through on-the-job training, classroom training programs, seminars, and assisting in the mentorship of interns and co-ops.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Engineering, coupled with 3 or more years of preconstruction/estimating experience.
- Proficiency in areas such as civil/site construction, foundation and structural systems, and various building components.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in estimating software (e.g., On Screen Takeoff, Desiniti), word processing, spreadsheets, bid management, and job management systems.
