Our Client, a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee their financial operations and drive the advancement of quality manufacturing through effective business practices. The CFO will be a key member of the senior management team, responsible for managing all financial, accounting, and operational aspects of the organization, while ensuring compliance and optimizing financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Lead all financial, accounting, reporting, and internal control functions to maintain organized, efficient, and compliant management systems.
- Audit and Compliance: Supervise the annual 401k audit, external financial reviews, and ensure compliance with all federal and state tax authorities, including regulatory financial reporting (e.g., FSR, UDS, Medicare, HRSA, state tax returns).
- Policy Development: Develop, recommend, and implement accounting and operational policies, procedures, and processes to support the organization's financial and operational goals.
- Strategic Financial Input: Participate in senior management meetings, providing financial insights and guidance to support decision-making that aligns with the organization's mission and patient-centered objectives.
- Operational Management: Oversee payroll, purchasing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting functions, while managing cash flow, investments, and relationships with banking and other fiscal entities.
- Insurance and Risk Management: Ensure that all necessary insurance coverages, including D&O, malpractice, general liability, property, and cyber, are in place and properly managed annually.
- Budgeting and Financial Planning: Prepare and manage organizational budgets, balancing program goals with financial targets, and ensure expenditures adhere to legal and budgetary requirements.
- Fiscal Management: Provide fiscal oversight of all contracts and actively manage the organization’s financial relationships with external parties, including payers and vendors.
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead a diverse team, including accounting staff, business office personnel, and related contracted staff, towards achieving the financial and operational objectives of the practice.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; Master’s degree in Business, or related field required.
- CPA certification preferred.
- 5-10 years of senior-level management experience as a CFO in a manufacturing setting.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams toward financial and operational goals.
- Extensive knowledge of financial and cash management, financial reporting, capital planning, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, audit requirements, taxation, investments, insurance and risk management, and strategic planning.
- Established proficiency in financial analysis and experience with payer negotiations and contracting.
- Strong leadership skills, business acumen, and people management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial information clearly to various stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and software applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate directly and empathetically, building trust and fostering positive relationships within the team and across the organization.
- Exceptional strategic planning and execution skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage change and drive organizational priorities.
